The sound quality is good and it is very loud. At the highest volume level, it can easily be heard from over 200-300 yds away or more. The receiver/trasmitter has a range of well over 50 yds( have not tested further). Just keep in mind that you need a pretty clear line of sight for optimal performance. For the price, it's a great product. I've used it once and it drug out a huge aggressive sow well over 200+ pounds charging from some thick stuff. Dropped her in her tracks on the run with my .300 weatherby with a shot to the head at about 10 yards away. Word of caution...avoid doing what I did (calling with call on body very close to thick cover) because it can turn quickly into a bad situation. Btw, the call that brought her in was the feeding frenzy. My recommendation is keep it about 20-30 yds away when calling. If you're going to keep it on your body, make sure you've given yourself plenty of distance so... I hunt on the adverage of once or twice a week here in Hawaii. I've been trying the Nomad Hog Call for over a month now and so far no pigs were attracted to any of the five different calls. I really think it scares them away. Also the remote's volume control does not work on my unit. When I use the remote to turn on one of the calls. The call comes out full volume and I can't lower it with the remote. All of the different calls comes out distorted after volume setting 3 or 4. I might keep trying Hog Call for a little while longer manually, but I have my doubts.
